A little bit different
This week is what has come to be known in elevated circles as a photo essay. That is, images rather than words.
Not because nothing has happened. It has. A pallet of plants has arrived from Arvensis Perennials. I have been to London and come back and in between bundle-dyed my first piece of silk and been uplifted and rejuvenated by some utterly wonderful women.
We have had the last tomatoes and the first sighting of the bat. I have harvested Hopi seeds by the bucket, and sweet pea seed by the careful bowl. I have posted out more books than I can count and then the emptying space where they were in the studio with two huge boxes of glorious Saipua soap, traditionally marking the start of planning the Christmas shop. Erin of Floret shared some pictures of my book and it immediately sold out on amazon and with The Future Kept. (I have saved her incredibly kind words in my highlights on IG. And now I think of her every time I walk from my back door to my truck because she loved the path…)
I do hope you are supporting your independent booksellers in sourcing a copy (I understand it is now in Mason & Painter on Columbia Road which has absolutely made my day) however, if you fancy leaving a review on either amazon.com or amazon.co.uk, I would be grateful. You'll have to tell me if you have left it as I will never see it; I have blocked my page on amazon on all my devices because I am not robust in the face of criticism and I would just rather sleep at night in blissful ignorance.
However, I do also still feel rather exhausted after the last month or so. I wouldn't ever miss writing you this Sunday night email but you know what they say. A change is as good.
And so here you are. My week in pictures.
