I am a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, a published author, a flower grower, a multi-passionate entrepreneur. I am the founder of Gather, a membership for people who adore having a bit of floral escapism in their everyday life. Images, words and pictures from my flower field in your digital world.

As part of the revolution in British Flowers and a thought leader on gardening and mental health, I am well placed to talk (and write) about where sustainability and flowers meet, the impact of outdoor spaces on our emotional health, or just how to grow some happiness out of a patch of soil. I adore giving a view on things, and I can do so promptly and articulately.

I have appeared on the top two podcasts in the flower world (Rona Wheeldon’s and Let’s Grow Girls) as well as being featured in House & Garden, Homes & Gardens, and multiple times in Bloom. My best-selling book, Grow & Gather, was received with rave reviews by The Observer and Gardens Illustrated.

I have worked with many of the best photographers in the UK and I have a library of high-resolution images from Matt Austin, Dean Hearne, Roger Bool and Andrew Maybury.

Church Cottage is a sixteenth century, thatched converted longhouse with glorious light. Under the glorious straw roof is a cottage of lime walls and original red brick floors. The small windows of the cottage lend themselves to soft, directional light, making the Instagram feed of Grace Alexander Flowers distinctive and famous.

Hand dyed photography backdrops by Grace Alexander are exclusive to those hiring Church Cottages as a location. Use of extensive props (ceramics and fabrics) included in the hire.

Outside of the cottage, there is a quarter acre of gardens, orchards, flower fields and kitchen gardens, all set against the backdrop of a wooded hillside. All areas of flowers can be used for photography although cutting and harvesting them for styling will need to be discussed in advance.

For food shoots, there is a beautiful, lime rendered wood oven, set on a reclaimed wooden base and a long, oak trestle table with aged wood benches. Margot, a beloved Land Rover Defender TD5 County hard top, is available for styled shoots (not for driving without additional insurance).

Church Cottages and the field are ideal for product photography, fashion and still shoots. Due to its village setting, it is not suitable for film with audio.

Church Cottages is less than six miles from J25 of the M5, 1.4 miles from Taunton Racecourse. There is generous parking on site, as well as WIFI in all indoor and outdoor areas.
