Because Rachel Siegfried is a legend in certain circles. I thought I was at the forefront of the British Flowers revolution when I launched in 2013, but Rachel already had a fair few seasons under her belt by that time, and she was very much leading the way. When Rachel talks, it pays to listen.

I have been banging on about perennials for a while now, and the back end of the 2022 season was devoted to planting up long beds of permanent planting and general shrubbery. Less faffing, less soil disturbance, more resilience in the face of the changing climate. I could not be more thrilled to be in with the cool crowd, and whilst I was researching and making lists about what to plant, Rachel was compiling the ultimate source book of perennials and woody plants for cutting. When I discovered this, I called her and I booked her in for an exclusive Gather interview because I really thought you would want to hear what she has to say too.
